Tonex® is a resin-based composite coating material, developed exclusively as a roller coating by Pronexos. It is exceptionally durable and adaptable for all kinds of applications. Since the unveiling of this innovative patented product at the International Converting Exhibition last year in Munich, market response has been overwhelmingly positive.
“Tonex® is such a flexible, appealing alternative to other roller coatings – it has enormous potential for so many applications,” says Philipp Kroschner, Head of CFRP Roller Sales at Pronexos. “We have been able to develop a number of unique variants for different purposes, including conductive versions, coloured and rubber-compatible ones. We are able to customise Tonex® to each of our customers’ specific needs, which makes it a very versatile product, on top of all its standard benefits.”
Pronexos develops and delivers bespoke, inventive products for a range of niche markets – Tonex® is the latest in a long line of state-of-the-art offerings. Kroschner believes that the range of potential applications for Tonex® is only just starting to be revealed. “Recent customer applications include a German OEM, who is using Tonex® as a final surface on rollers,” he explains. “We have already established a distributor relationship in the Japanese market for this.”
Pronexos continues to look for new market opportunities where the coating could help new customers. “We plan to get Tonex® qualified for the non-woven textile market, where metal coatings are currently favoured,” explains Kroschner. “Tonex® is much easier to repair than any other type ofoating, so customers can simply repair and reuse it, either using Pronexos repair services or by doing it themselves using provided kits.”
